Thanks to the holiday season, Target’s online sales increased by 34%
Target Corp.’s online sales increased by 34% year over year in Q4. According to CEO Brian Cornell, Target had “a great holiday season, driving consistent growth throughout the fourth quarter and delivering on the sales and profit goals we laid out at the beginning of the year”.
On top of that, Target did well in online orders fulfilled in stores during the Black Friday weekend, fulfilling over 1 million digital orders.
In the run-up to Christmas, in-store pickup orders accounted for half of Target’s online sales volume. Target’s strategy was a free-shipping offer on online orders with no minimum requirement, which resulted in a 3% increase in average order size.
